In the heart of the city Kamnik Alps there is a beautiful and charming old town called Kamnik. It is surrounded by mountains, and one of them is Velika Planina the one from which you have a wonderful view of it. It is green and has a unique architecture with more than 50 Shepard's huts. The whole day will be like a jump into the past!



The start from the hotel in Portorož and the transfer to the foot of the Velika Planina mountain takes about 2 hours and 30 minutes. Then we take the funicular to the top of the hill (only if you have selected the option) and enjoy the beautiful view and green pastures. We will continue the tour by visiting the Preskar Hat Museum and then - only 10 minutes away - we will stop in Kamnik for approximately one hour. Here we will visit the town and after some free time for individual activities we will return to the hotel.



Time for a visit to Kamnik, one of the most beautiful and oldest cities in Slovenia, surrounded by the beautiful Kamnik Alps. First you will visit Velika Planina for approximately 4 hours. Velika Planina is a town that offers you a great aerial view of Kamnik and its surroundings. This mountain plateau with its green pastures and the typical and unique architecture of more than 50 shepherd's huts offers a truly beautiful experience. Later you will stop at Preskar's Cabin Museum, the only preserved example of a typical oval Velika planina cabin in Slovenia, where you will learn more about the history of the shepherd in this region. The afternoon is spent in Kamnik and its medieval town center. A leap in time into the past is guaranteed!



The return trip will take approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes.
