HIGHLIGHTS

Starting from our meeting point in the center of Amsterdam, this time we take you to Brussels, the capital of Belgium and of the entire European Union, since there is the famous European Parliament.

Upon arrival in the city we will make a panoramic visit where we will see the characteristic Atomium and the site of the 1958 Universal Exposition. We will make a stop for photographs and continue to the Japanese gardens that bring us closer to the Laeken Palace.

Once in the heart of Brussels, we start on foot visiting the most important points of the historic city center. We start at the Cathedral of San Miguel and Santa Gúdula, continuing the tour towards the Monte de las Artes. This place is about a viewpoint at the foot of the Royal Palace, from where you can see from the town hall to the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, the largest Art Deco church in the world. Strolling through the narrow streets of the center, we approach the Royal Galleries, an old meeting place for a multitude of French poets and writers since its inauguration (Victor Hugo, author of Les Misérables, Alejandro Dumas, author of The Three Musketeers ...). Inside the galleries we find bookstores, cafes, apartments or auditoriums.

Of course, we will see the most illustrious neighbor of Brussels, the Manneken Pis. It was made in 1619 in bronze with a 58 cm height and has more than 700 pieces of clothing with which it is dressed for different occasions. It has been the victim of vandalism: stolen, painted, destroyed ... but, still, it still stands.

And to finish, we come to the jewel in the crown: the Grand Place. It was the main market of the city since the 12th century and since the 15th it houses the city hall in a Gothic Bravantine style and markedly asymmetrical. The square has been home to numerous guilds and after being destroyed by Louis XIV in 1695; it was rebuilt almost entirely ... by the merchants themselves who competed with each other to see who was the fastest to remake their headquarters.

After finishing the visit on foot, you will enjoy free time in the city to try their famous waffles, mussels and beers or shop.

We will meet the guide again after free time to return to Amsterdam together. On our way out of the city we will see the European Quarter, where the International Council, Parliament and Embassies are located.
