Hey, you there! Do you have nerves of steel and a great sense of humour?

Then you've come to the right place! In The Amsterdam Dungeon you’ll come face to face with over 500 years of Amsterdam’s darkest history.

10 scarily good actors bring shockingly scary true stories back to life (as well as the odd corpse).



On 360 degree sets you’ll experience 12 shows, along with your fellow heretics. You see, hear and smell history brought to life (yes, you can really smell it…. and you can't blame the dog for this one). Down in The Dungeons you can trust no-one and you become part of the story. So, get ready to scream as you're burnt at the stake, to chuckle at the melancholic (but clearly crazy) judge, and to tremble with fear as you stand face-to-face with the executioner. This unique, interactive theatrical experience will stay with you for the rest of your life (which might not be as long as you think if you come down with the plague!).



Oh… don't forget…. NEW at The Amsterdam Dungeon: The Gallows Fields…

You won't want to hang around here for too long! Before you know it, you'll be the prisoner and the common people will decide your fate. But then they'll have to rope in some help (rope, gallows, do you get it!?)



A visit to this unholy place isn't for the weak-hearted! Because of this, The Amsterdam Dungeon is not recommended for children under the age of 10, and guests younger than 13 must be accompanied by an adult.





Know before you go

• A new tour starts every 10 minutes. It depends on the first in the row whether the next show will be in English or in Dutch. The tours last approximately 80 minutes no matter what time you enter.

• The Amsterdam Dungeon is open 365 days a year, we open at 11am and close at 6pm (last tour). On Fridays and Saturdays the last show starts at 7pm. Because of holidays the opening hours can vary, please check the website for the special opening hours.

• The attraction can be visited in a wheelchair, but because of limited spots please make sure that you contact The Amsterdam Dungeon before your visit.
