Il programma nel dettaglio

Enjoy a pleasant stroll through the pretty streets of what locals call the City of Hydrangeas or the Imperial City of Brasil, Petropolis. Find out why the Second Brasillian Emperor chose to have his summer palace here, and why it remains a highly popular winter destination for Brasillian people.

You will be able to wander the flower-filled streets where the history of the Brasillian Empire has been kept alive and enjoy the beautifully preserved historical artifacts that mingle with modern urban development.

Escape the hustle and bustle to venture into the city's surrounding valleys where the natural environment has been carefully preserved and ecotourism thrives. Weave your way through the historic downtown area, where you will find relics from the past including the imperial and republican periods. Learn the history of Petropolis's time as the state capital of Rio de Janeiro between 1894 and 1902.

Make sure to see the famous Cristal Palace, a stunning greenhouse originally built for Princess Isabel in France and brought to Brazil in 1884, where you will be able to picture yourself at an opulent banquet or elegant party - two of the types of events for which the palace is now used. Swing by the Cathedral de São Pedro de Alcântara to delight in its eclectic neo-gothic style. Peek inside the former summer residence of Emperor Don Pedro the second, the Museum Imperial. This is where the Emperor escaped to when the heat of Rio de Janeiro became too great! Join us to make your visit to Petropolis a time of great beauty and contemplation.
