Il programma nel dettaglio

See two sides of the Kazimierz Jewish quarter, with a history of great discord and heartache and a present day life of vibrancy. This walking tour will highlight both the tragic occurrences in the former Jewish District of Krakow, and introduce you the the now lively and artistic district of the city.

The Kazimierz quarter was once the heart of the Jewish community in Krakow, and witness to the tragic events of the past. The tour will take you across the Vistula River to the former Ghetto area in Podgorze. Take in the sights and sounds as you imagine life in the time of World War II. See Schindler's Factory, a place with a dark history that was elaborated upon in the acclaimed movie, Schindler's List, directed by Steven Spielberg. You will also visit the opposite bank of the river where the remnants of the ghetto and the Emalia Factory stand preserved as a testament to the Holocaust.

As you walk and take in the dark side of the area's history, you will also see the transformed present day. Vibrant, eclectic, and artistic, with a plethora of cafes and restaurants, you can see a place of survival and a reassurance that even after the most tragic of hardships, happiness can return to a community.

Experience both past and present, and a true transformation from tragedy to life full of energy, with this walking tour of Kazimierz Jewish quarter. A journey sure to captivate your senses and give you insight into a fascinating community.
