Il programma nel dettaglio

See Vienna in a nutshell with this whistle-stop one-hour express tour of the Austrian capital that takes in the top sights and attractions. Discover the city’s imperial legacy and admire its awe-inspiring architecture and its rich culture heritage while learning all about its fascinating history and the people whose talent and inspiration helped make it one of the world’s truly great cities.

Marvel at the monumental Michaelerplatz, where Roman ruins share the square with a beautiful baroque church, a wing of the imperial palace and the Looshaus, which caused an almighty stir when it was built a century ago. Continue to the Josefsplatz and Spanish riding School, both of which are in the elegant environs of the Hofburg Palace, the favoured winter residence of the Habsburg dynasty until their demise at the end of the Great War. It is the pinnacle of Belle Époque Vienna.

Stroll down the Kohlmarkt, the sophisticated pedestrianised street that houses many of the city’s top boutiques and offers a sensational view of the imperial palace’s dome. See the legendary Patisserie Demel, which dates from the late 18th century, and whose chocolate-rich Sachertorte cakes are one of the city’s most popular delicacies. Wander through the Graben on the way to St Stephen’s Cathedral. The Graben is one of Vienna’s premier streets and was renowned for its palatial townhouses – only one remains – though it now has the air of a grandiose boulevard despite its somewhat compact size.

Meeting/pick-up point: Michaelerplatz, in front of the ruins facing the church. Duration: One hour.
Languages: German and English with others available on request.
Others: The tour will take place regardless of weather conditions.
