Il programma nel dettaglio

Discover the beauty, history and sheer size of Schonbrunn Palace, one of Europe’s most impressive imperial buildings and an unquestionable highlight of any trip to Vienna. Once the summer residence of the all-powerful Habsburg family and the resplendent centre of court life, the palace has been maintained in all its former glory and to this day is a worthy setting for festive banquets and official receptions. Explore its many rooms and admire the luxury of the halls, dining rooms and chambers within.

An UNESCO World Heritage Site, Schonbrunn Palace has captivated visitors for centuries. Embark on an unforgettable journey back in time into the world of the Habsburg imperial dynasty and view as many as forty of the lavish rooms found inside. Marvel at the 40 metre long Festival hall as well as Emperor Franz Joseph’s bedroom and the sumptuous Million Room.

On this Grand Tour of the palace you will peer into the lives of Emperor Franz Joseph and Empress Elisabeth as you tour their private apartments and put yourself in the shoes of one the most powerful couple in Europe. Learn the fascinating story of Empress Elizabeth, or “Sisi” as she was better known, who was married into the Habsburg family at the end of just sixteen. Often overpowered and controlled by her domineering mother in law, Sisi was something of a free spirit and flaunted the traditions and expectations of court life until her tragic murder many years later.
